Meta Pixel, Google Analytics and other tracking
Ginta websites set no cookies and show no cookie banner by default. When you want to measure your ads or count your visitors with an outside tool, paste its ID and Ginta does the rest, so the website stays legal in the EU.
Works on every plan, Free too. The "Other script" box (any other tool) is on paid plans.
Turn it on
Open the website in Ginta → Settings → Marketing & tracking and paste the IDs you use:
| Tool | What to paste | Where you find it |
|---|---|---|
| Meta Pixel (Facebook, Instagram) | the 15 or 16 digit pixel ID | Meta Events Manager → Data sources |
| Google Analytics 4 | the measurement ID, G-… |
Google Analytics → Admin → Data streams |
| Google Ads | the conversion ID AW-… and the conversion label |
Google Ads → Goals → Conversions → Tag setup |
| TikTok Pixel | the 20-character pixel ID | TikTok Ads Manager → Tools → Events |
| Pinterest tag | the tag ID | Pinterest Ads Manager → Conversions → Tag manager |
You can also paste the whole snippet a tool gives you: Ginta takes the ID out of it. Leave a box empty to turn that tool off.
In Ginta's chat you can just write it: "add my Meta pixel 123456789012345" or "turn off my TikTok pixel". That costs no credits.
From Claude or ChatGPT (MCP): manage_site with action: "tracking" and
tracking: {"meta": "123456789012345", "ga4": "G-ABC123DEF4"} ("" turns one off; no tracking = what's on now).
What Ginta does for you
- The cookie banner. The moment any tool is on, every page shows a small banner with Accept, Reject and Settings, the same size, in the page's language (English, Lithuanian, German, French, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, Dutch, Polish), in your website's own font and colours. Turn every tool off and the banner is gone.
- Nothing loads before Accept. No pixel, no Google tag, no cookie until the visitor says yes. Settings lets them say yes to statistics but no to marketing. The choice is remembered on their device for six months, and asked again when you add a tool.
- Google Consent Mode v2. Google's tags start with everything denied and get exactly the visitor's choice.
- "Cookie settings" in the footer of every page, so visitors can change their mind. Taking back a yes clears the tools' cookies.
- Your privacy page lists exactly the tools that are on, who runs them and why. A website without a privacy page gets one.
- Events, by themselves:
| On your website | Meta | Google Analytics 4 | TikTok | Google Ads | |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| A product's page | ViewContent | view_item | ViewContent | pagevisit | |
| Add to cart | AddToCart | add_to_cart | AddToCart | addtocart | |
| Checkout started | InitiateCheckout | begin_checkout | InitiateCheckout | ||
| A paid order (once per order, with its total and currency) | Purchase | purchase | CompletePayment | checkout | conversion |
| A message from a form, a quote request | Lead | generate_lead | SubmitForm | lead | conversion |
| A booking, an event place | Schedule | booking | SubmitForm | lead | conversion |
A paid booking or event place is also a Purchase. Each event carries the order's id, so the tools don't count it twice.
Good to know
- Tracking code written into a page by hand (gtag, fbq, ttq, pintrk, Hotjar, Clarity, LinkedIn…) also waits for the visitor's yes, and the banner names it.
- In Ginta's editor the preview shows the banner, but never loads a tool: your own visits don't count.
- Moving a website to another account turns its tracking off: the IDs belong to your ad accounts.
- Whether you need more (for example a consent record for an ad platform, or rules outside the EU) depends on your business and country: ask your adviser if unsure.
