A Wix alternative for small business websites
If you want a small business website with booking, a menu or quote requests, and you'd rather ask for changes than drag boxes around, Ginta is a simpler and cheaper Wix alternative: your own domain starts at €5 a month, and online booking is on every paid plan. If you want to design every detail yourself, or need a big shop, hotel bookings or memberships, Wix is the more complete tool, and it has been doing this for far longer than we have.

Why small businesses look for a Wix alternative
Wix is a mature builder: "1000's of templates", a drag-and-drop editor, and AI that builds a first version from a description. Starting is free. People look elsewhere because of cost and effort once the site has to do real work:
- The cheapest plan doesn't take bookings. Online booking (Scheduling) and payments start on Core: $29 a month billed yearly in the US in January 2026, against $17 for Light, says Wix's own blog.
- The prices you see are yearly, paid up front. Wix's pricing page says its displayed prices "are for yearly subscriptions, paid in full at the time of purchase". We couldn't find Wix's month-to-month prices on its own pages.
- The free plan carries Wix branding "(and sometimes ads)" and can't use your own domain: your site lives at
username.wixsite.com/sitename. - An editor is a second job. Drag-and-drop gives you control, and makes you the designer. Many owners just want the site done and the hours and prices kept up to date.

Ginta's prices include tax and are the same number in euros (eurozone) or US dollars (everywhere else). Wix lists its US prices "for reference only".
What a small business pays in year one
Say you want your own domain, no builder branding and online booking. Prices before any discounts, not counting the domain itself:
- Ginta Light: €12 a month, or €120 a year paid yearly. Booking is included, and so are 120 AI credits a month for changes.
- Ginta Hosting: €5 a month if you build with your own Claude or ChatGPT. Booking is included; no monthly Ginta credits, because your assistant does the work.
- Wix Core: $29 a month billed yearly in the US. Light ($17) doesn't include booking.
Wix gives you something we don't: every paid Wix plan lists a "Free domain for 1 year" on yearly plans. Ginta doesn't sell domains; you register one wherever you like and Ginta shows the exact DNS steps for that registrar.
How building and changing differs
On Wix, the AI gives you a starting point and the editor is where you spend your time. Its AI credits work like this: chatting with Aria is free, other AI tools use credits (on the free plan up to 30 a day and 120 a month), and Wix says it isn't currently possible to buy top-up credits for Premium plans.
On Ginta, the AI does the design and the writing; there's no editor to learn. You write "change Saturday to 10 to 4" and it happens in seconds, or you click a text on the page and type. Ginta's own AI uses credits: 20 when you confirm your email, then 3 a day (up to 15 a month); with our best AI a one-page website is about 20 credits (more pages use more), and a change with our fast AI about 0.2. Menus, bookings, blog posts and photos you manage in Ginta's screens, with no credits.
When Wix is the better choice
- You want to design it yourself. Wix's editor lets you move every block. Ginta has no drag-and-drop editor.
- You sell a lot online. Wix eCommerce goes up to 50,000 products. Ginta's shop takes orders, but online payment through your own Stripe isn't open yet.
- You need a specialised app: restaurant ordering and table reservations, hotels, memberships, or the Wix App Market. Ginta has a handful of built-in parts and no app market.
- You want a big company behind it, with customer care on every plan. Ginta is young and run by one person in Lithuania (support@ginta.app).
Moving from Wix to Ginta
There's no automatic import. On ginta.app, describe your business or paste the texts from your Wix site, and Ginta builds a new website in about a minute. Ask for the parts you need, add your photos, then connect your domain in Settings. Keep the Wix site until the new one is live. If you're a barber, restaurant or plumber, those pages show a real example and what that kind of site needs.

For your own domain without builder branding, Ginta starts at €5 a month (Hosting) or €12 (Light); Wix Light is $17 billed yearly in the US. With booking the gap grows, because Wix puts Scheduling on Core ($29). Wix's prices vary by country.
Is Ginta free like Wix?
Both free plans publish. Ginta's keeps up to 20 websites online at their Ginta address with a small badge; your own domain needs a paid plan. Building needs a free account.
Does Ginta have templates or an app market?
No template gallery and no app market. Ginta's AI designs each website for the business you describe, and you can send a screenshot of a site you like as inspiration. The built-in parts are booking, shop, events, menu, gallery, blog, quote requests, announcements and forms.
