Ginta vs Wix
Ginta vs Wix: which is better for a small business website?
Wix is the bigger, older and more complete website builder. Its AI builds a first version, and then a full drag-and-drop editor, a dashboard and a large app market let you do almost anything. Ginta does less, on purpose: you describe your business, it's live in about a minute, and you change it by asking instead of learning an editor.
If you want to design every detail yourself or run a big shop, pick Wix. If you want a good small-business site with a booking, a menu or a contact form, finished for you, Ginta is simpler and starts cheaper on your own domain.

When to pick Wix
- You want to design it yourself. Wix pairs its AI with a drag-and-drop editor and templates, so you can move every block by hand.
- You need a specialised app: a large online store, restaurant ordering and reservations, or something from the Wix App Market. Ginta has a handful of built-in parts and no app market.
- A team works on the site. Wix has collaborator roles, from 2 seats on Light up to 100 on Business Elite.
- You pay yearly anyway and want a domain included. Yearly Wix plans come with a free domain voucher for a year; Ginta sells domains too (€29 a year), but none comes free with a plan.
- You want a big company behind it. Ginta is young and run by one person in Lithuania.
When to pick Ginta
- You want the site done, not a new tool to learn. Describe the business in a sentence, answer a few questions, and it's live. Change it by writing "Saturday is now 10 to 4", or click a text on the page and type.
- You want your own domain cheaply, month to month. €5 a month on Hosting (you build with your own Claude or ChatGPT) or €19 on Light (Ginta's AI), billed monthly.
- You need booking, a menu or quote requests. Menu, gallery, blog, quote requests, booking, shop, events and reviews are on every plan (Free: up to 25 products, 30 bookings a month and 5 upcoming events per website), managed in Ginta's screens without the AI.
- A helper keeps it up to date. They sign in at yoursite.com/admin to see messages and change the menu or bookings, with no Ginta account.
- You'd rather work from your own assistant. Claude or ChatGPT can build and publish through Ginta's MCP server, using no Ginta credits.
Moving from Wix to Ginta
There's no automatic import. On ginta.app, describe your business or paste the texts from your Wix site, and Ginta builds a new website. Ask for the parts you need, add your photos, then connect your domain in the website's Settings → Address & domain. Keep the Wix site until the new one is live.

Is Ginta cheaper than Wix?
To start on your own domain, usually yes: Ginta is €5 a month (Hosting) or €19 (Light), billed monthly. Wix Light is $17 a month billed yearly in the US, paid up front, and Wix's prices differ by country. Wix's yearly plans include a free domain for a year; on Ginta you bring your own or buy one for €29 a year.
Do both have a free plan?
Yes, and both publish. Wix's free sites live at a wixsite.com address with Wix branding and sometimes ads. Ginta's free plan keeps up to 20 websites online at name.ginta.page with a small "Made with Ginta" badge. Your own domain needs a paid plan on both.
Does Ginta have a drag-and-drop editor like Wix?
No. Ginta's AI does the design and the writing; you change things by asking in the chat or by clicking a text or photo on the page. If you want to place every block yourself, Wix is the better fit.
Can Claude or ChatGPT build my site on Wix and on Ginta?
Yes, both. Wix has an MCP server, a Claude connector and a ChatGPT app. Ginta's MCP server works from Claude (it's in Claude's connector directory too), ChatGPT, Claude Code, Codex and Cursor, and building from your own assistant uses no Ginta credits: see website builder MCP.
Can I move my Wix site to Ginta?
Not automatically. Paste your texts into Ginta's chat and it builds a new site in about a minute; then connect your domain. Keep the Wix site until the new one is live.
