Claude Design closes on 14 December: how to keep your website online

The standalone Claude Design site (claude.ai/design) closes on 14 December 2026, and public links to its projects stop working after that, says Anthropic. If you used one of those links as your website, export the project before then and put it on a real host, ideally at your own domain. You can move a project into Claude as an artifact, or download it as a .zip. Below: what's changing, how to save your project, and three ways to keep the website online, including having Claude publish it through Ginta.

Anthropic's plans were checked in its help centre on 5 November 2026 (Move from standalone Claude Design to Claude). Ginta is our product.

What's changing

So if a customer, a client or your Instagram bio points at a Claude Design link, that link has about five weeks left.

Step 1: save your project now

Do both, so you have a copy whatever happens:

  1. Export the .zip (Share → Project HTML → Project archive → Export) and keep it somewhere safe.
  2. Save the chats and comments you need: Anthropic says they aren't carried over.
  3. If Move to Claude is available to you, move the projects you want to keep working on.

Step 2: put it on a real address

A Claude link was never your business's website anyway: you couldn't put it on your own domain, search engines don't treat it as your site, and a contact form needs somewhere to send messages. Pick one of these.

Option A: let Claude publish it with Ginta (no files to handle)

Ginta is a website builder and host that Claude can publish to. Add it once: it's in Claude's connector directory, or add https://ginta.app/mcp as a custom connector (steps on build a website with Claude).

Then connect your own domain on a paid plan (from €5 a month on Hosting, made for people who build with their own AI), or buy one inside Ginta for €29 a year. Building through Claude uses no Ginta credits.

Option B: upload the .zip from your computer with Claude Code

If you use Claude Code, unzip the export, open the folder in a terminal and ask Claude Code to "publish this folder with Ginta" (after claude mcp add --transport http ginta https://ginta.app/mcp). It gets a short-lived upload link from Ginta and sends the whole folder in one go: how it works.

Option C: any static host

The exported files are a static website. Netlify Drop, Cloudflare Pages and GitHub Pages take a folder and let you connect a domain. Good if you're comfortable with DNS and will edit the code yourself next time.

Two things to check, wherever it goes

Questions

When does Claude Design close?

The standalone site at claude.ai/design closes on 14 December 2026, according to Anthropic's help centre (checked 5 November 2026). After that it's read-only and public links to its projects stop working.

Will my Claude Design link redirect to the new website?

No. Anthropic says the public links will no longer work. Update every place that links to the old address: your Google Business Profile, social profiles, email signature and printed QR codes.

Can I keep the same design?

Yes. The export holds your project's files, and moving to Claude keeps the project as an artifact. If you rebuild it with Claude and Ginta, give Claude a screenshot so it keeps the look.

Is there a free way to keep it online?

Yes. Ginta's free plan keeps a website online at a ginta.page address with a small "Made with Ginta" badge, and static hosts like Netlify and GitHub Pages have free plans too. Your own domain costs money everywhere: the domain itself, and on Ginta a paid plan.

Put it online for good

Add Ginta to Claude, then ask it to publish your page. Free to start.
