Product reviews on your shop's product pages, approved by you

Reviews under the Amber Hour candle: a four-star review from Tom and a five-star review from Ieva, both dated Nov 8, 2026, and a Write a review button
Reviews on a product page of a test copy of the Wick & Hollow demo shop. The two reviews were written for this test.

With product reviews switched on, every product page in your Ginta shop gets its reviews and a "Write a review" form: stars, a name and a few words. New reviews wait until you (or a helper you trust with your website's /admin) approve them; only approved ones show, with their average and the review data Google reads. Every plan.

How it works

  1. Switch on Reviews on product pages in Shop → Settings (it uses Ginta's Reviews part).
  2. A buyer opens the product's page, presses Write a review, picks the stars and writes a few words. An email address is optional and never shown.
  3. The review lands in your inbox as waiting. You approve or delete it in Ginta, on your website's /admin or from Claude or ChatGPT.
  4. Approved reviews show under the product with their date. From three reviews, the average shows too.

Only real reviews

Ginta's AI never writes reviews, and the setup refuses made-up ones: reviews come from buyers, or from you when you copy in real ones you received elsewhere (and can show if asked). That matters beyond honesty: in the EU, shops that show reviews must say how they check them, and fake reviews are banned by the Unfair Commercial Practices Directive as amended in 2019. Approving each review yourself is a simple, explainable check.

For Google

Approved reviews are part of each product's structured data (the Product's ratings and reviews), so search engines can read them. Whether Google shows stars next to your product in results is Google's choice.

Shop reviews too

The same Reviews part can show reviews of your business as a whole on any page, for example the home page, separately from product reviews.

Questions

Can I reply to a review?

Not on the page yet. You can contact the buyer if they left their email (it's visible to you, never to visitors).

Can I import reviews from Etsy or Google?

Not automatically. You can add real reviews you received elsewhere by hand, with the name and date.

Can I delete a bad review?

You decide what's approved. Deleting honest negative reviews to look better is risky in many countries and loses buyers' trust; replying and fixing the problem usually works better.

Do buyers need an account to review?

No. They write a name, stars and the text; an email is optional.
