Click and collect with pickup times: buyers choose a day and a time

A pickup option in Ginta's shop can have times: buyers choose a day and a time in the cart before they pay, and Ginta only offers the times you're open, far enough ahead, and not yet full. It's how a bakery takes Saturday orders by Thursday, a florist spreads collections across the afternoon, or a studio stops five people arriving at once. Every plan.
What you set
- Days and hours: for example Tuesday to Saturday, 10:00 to 18:00, in your time zone.
- Every how many minutes a time starts: 15, 30, 60 or up to 120.
- Lead time: how long before a pickup an order must come in (three hours for flowers, a day for bread).
- How far ahead people can choose.
- Orders per time: when a time is full, it isn't offered any more.
The chosen day and time are on the order in Ginta and on the buyer's order page.
What the buyer sees
In the cart they choose Pickup at … (free, or with a price if you set one), then a day and a time from the lists. Ginta's server checks the time again when they pay, so two people can't take the last place in the same slot. Without a time chosen, the cart asks for one before going to payment.
Pickup next to delivery
A shop can have both: pickup with times, delivery by post priced by zone or weight (shipping), and a local delivery option. Each has its own name and price, and buyers pick one. A local delivery area (one town, some postcodes) is said in words in the option's name and on your page: Ginta's delivery options cover countries, not postcodes.
Who uses it
- Bakeries and cake makers: pre-orders for the weekend, collection in the morning (Pane Bakehouse demo, websites for bakeries).
- Florists: bouquets made the morning they're collected (Veldbloem demo).
- Makers and studios: a collection point instead of postage for bulky pieces.
- Coffee roasters, delis, meal prep: a pickup day each week.
Questions
Can I close on holidays?
Set the days you're open. For a one-off closure, change the option's days in Shop → Settings for that week and put a line on your page.
Does pickup cost anything?
Only if you give the option a price. Most shops make pickup free.
Can I take payment at pickup instead of online?
The pickup times live in the online cart, which is paid by card through Stripe. If you'd rather be paid on collection, switch the shop to "ask" mode or use WhatsApp orders, and agree the time in your reply.
What if someone doesn't come?
You have their name, email and phone (when asked) on the order. You can refund it from Ginta if you agree to.
