Ginta vs Wix eCommerce
Ginta vs Wix eCommerce: is Wix good for ecommerce when your shop is small?
Wix eCommerce is the shop inside Wix, the big website builder: from the Core plan up you can sell up to 50,000 products with Wix Payments, PayPal, Stripe and many other providers. Ginta builds a small business's website with the shop already in it, takes card payments through your own Stripe account on every plan (Free too), and takes 0 % of your sales.
Wix does more: digital downloads, subscriptions, a point of sale, marketplaces, loyalty programs and a large app market. Ginta does less and costs less to start: you can sell on the free plan, and your own domain is a monthly plan. If you sell a few dozen physical products, Ginta is simpler. If you need downloads, subscriptions or a till in the shop, pick Wix. For websites in general (not shops), see Ginta vs Wix.

When to pick Wix eCommerce
- You sell digital downloads or subscriptions. Wix sells files (up to 1 GB for documents) and repeat deliveries of physical products. Ginta's Shop sells physical products and pickup only.
- You want PayPal, Klarna or Afterpay at checkout. Wix connects PayPal, Stripe and local providers by country. Ginta takes cards, Apple Pay and Google Pay through Stripe, and no PayPal.
- You also sell in person. Wix POS syncs shop and till sales in the US, Canada and the UK. Ginta has no point of sale.
- You want to reach marketplaces. From Core, Wix lists your products on marketplaces and social channels, and offers dropshipping (25 products on Core, 250 on Business).
- You have a big catalogue. Wix holds 50,000 products on every plan that sells; Ginta holds up to 500 per website on paid plans.
- You want to design every block yourself. Wix pairs its AI with a drag-and-drop editor.
When to pick Ginta
- You want to sell before you pay for a plan. Every Ginta plan, Free too, has the whole Shop and card payments through your own Stripe, with up to 25 products per website. Wix's free plan can't take payments.
- You'd rather not pay a year up front. Your own domain on Ginta is €5 a month (Hosting, you build with your own Claude or ChatGPT) or €19 a month (Light, Ginta's AI). Prices include VAT.
- Discounts and gift cards on the cheapest plan. Codes, automatic discounts, buy X get Y, volume prices, sets, gift cards, back-in-stock emails and product reviews are on every Ginta plan.
- Pickup at a time the buyer picks. Ginta's pickup has time slots (days, hours, orders per slot), delivery priced by weight or order total, and PDF receipts with your VAT number.
- The shop comes with the website. Describe the business; Ginta writes the pages and sets up the products. You manage orders in Ginta, at yoursite.com/admin, or from Claude or ChatGPT through Ginta's MCP server.
What Wix eCommerce really costs a small shop
Take a shop with 20 orders of $30 a month, paid by card in the US. On Wix Core that's $29 a month for the plan (paid for the year up front, $348) plus Wix Payments' 2.9% + $0.30 per order: 20 × $1.17 = $23.40. About $52.40 a month, before cross-border card fees.
On Ginta the plan is €0 on Free (at name.ginta.page) or €19 a month for your own domain on Light. Ginta adds nothing per order; Stripe charges its own card fees, which depend on your country (Stripe's page for Lithuania shows 1.5% + €0.25 for standard EEA cards).
Is Wix good for ecommerce?
Yes, for a shop that will grow big or needs downloads, subscriptions, a till or marketplaces: Wix has all of these from Core. For a small shop selling physical products, you pay for a lot you won't use, and you can't sell on the free plan. Ginta covers the small-shop part (cart, discounts, gift cards, delivery, pickup, receipts) on every plan.
Moving from Wix to Ginta
Export your products from Wix as a CSV file (Wix exports up to 5,000 rows per file; digital products can't be exported). Ginta's CSV import matches the columns of any spreadsheet, shows a preview first, and updates products with the same name. Then connect Stripe and your domain, and keep the Wix shop open until the new one has taken its first order.

Can I sell on Wix's free plan?
No. Wix's free plan has "no ecommerce functionality or way to take payments"; selling starts at Core, $29 a month billed yearly (US reference price). On Ginta every plan, Free too, takes card payments through your own Stripe, with up to 25 products per website.
What fees does Wix charge per sale?
Wix's plan table lists no transaction fee on store sales. With Wix Payments you pay card processing: 2.9% + $0.30 in the US, 2.1% + £0.20 in the UK, 1.9% + €0.30 in EU countries, with cross-border fees on top. Ginta takes 0 % of sales on every plan; Stripe charges its card fees.
Can Claude or ChatGPT run my shop on Wix or Ginta?
Both. The Wix MCP (also a built-in connector in Claude) creates and publishes sites and calls store APIs, and the Wix app in ChatGPT builds a live store; payments, shipping and tax are set in the Wix dashboard. Ginta's MCP server builds the whole website with the shop and manages products, orders and discounts from Claude or ChatGPT.
Does Ginta sell digital downloads or subscriptions like Wix?
No. Ginta's Shop sells physical products, pickup and delivery. If downloads or subscriptions are most of what you sell, Wix fits better.
How do I move my Wix store to Ginta?
Export your products from Wix as a CSV file and import it into Ginta, which matches the columns and shows a preview first. Add photos if they didn't come across, connect Stripe and your domain, and keep Wix running until the first order arrives on Ginta.
